Rewards and Recognition at Lehigh
Recent History

2002-2003
A staff-driven committee develops the criteria and communication plan for the newly created Tradition of Excellence Award (TEA). Senior administrators create the Spot Bonus Award (SB) program for supervisors to recognize extraordinary efforts of their staff members.

Spring 2003
Nominations are received and evaluated, and the first TEAs and SBs are handed out.

February 2007

Human Resources (HR) conducts a survey of staff and faculty supervisors to gather feedback on the new awards programs as well as other recognition activities. The information is evaluated and refinements are made. For example, additional gifts were added for achieving service milestones beyond the 25-year mark.

2009
Staff and faculty appreciation dinners are combined to recognize the united mission of the campus community.

Summer 2011
With the TEA and SB programs celebrating their eighth year, the time is right to survey faculty and staff again about their impressions of these and other recognition activities. HR also wants your input on a potential new award program. Look for an email survey soon.
