Hidden Benefits Gems: Lehigh Athletics Tickets

Print Article

This month’s hidden gem was inspired by a post on the Work Life Lehigh Facebook page. Silagh White, director of arts engagement and cultural affairs, asked the following:

“Question. Are there any faculty/staff discounts for Lehigh Athletics events?”

We thought other employees might be interested in this information as well, so we contacted Rich Haas in Athletics for the lowdown.

Rich tells us that Lehigh ID card holders (students, faculty and staff) are admitted free to all home regularly-scheduled athletics events with just a few exceptions and seating restrictions. We’ve broken them all down for you here.

Here are the exceptions:

  • You must purchase tickets to home football games and home men’s basketball games vs. Lafayette, and other special events added for a particular sport and/or season.
  • You must also purchase tickets for postseason events, such as EIWA Championships, NCAA Football or Patriot League Basketball.

Seating Information:

Faculty and staff have access to the following seating areas for football and basketball games they attend free of charge:

  • Football:  Grass Bank and all general admission sections for a particular game, which are subject to change for any given game.
  • Basketball:  The West End Zone upper level (sections 20-24), Sections 14 and 15, lower level blue seats, and any other general admission section for a particular game, which are subject to change for any given game.

Wrestling Tickets:

  • Staff and faculty can attend wrestling matches free of charge but must claim a ticket in advance or on match night. Seating available includes upper level reserved in either Stabler Arena section (23 or 24) or Grace Hall (section 201 or 202), or upper level mezzanine (standing room only) in Grace Hall.

All Other Sports (baseball, softball, lacrosse, soccer, etc.):

  • Free admission. All seating is general admission.

Bring Your Family!
If you take a look at your Lehigh ID card, you’ll notice a number in the bottom right corner. That number indicates the number of dependents you told Lehigh about when you received your ID card. This is how many family members you can bring to an athletics event (not including yourself).

It’s important to note that this is a non-transferable offer. You cannot bring friends in place of your dependents. Non-family members must purchase a ticket to attend.
So, show your Lehigh spirit. Put on some brown and white and cheer on your favorite Mountainhawks.
