News from ERAC

Print Article

We hope you all are doing well and enjoying your December and the wind-up of the year. The Employee Relations Advisory Council is slowing down a bit toward the end of the semester and year, but we do want to bring a handful of items to your attention.

First, ERAC has partnered with the Office of Multicultural Affairs in sponsoring a family in the Adopt A Family program.  For those unfamiliar with the program, offices and departments “adopt” a family and provide that family with needed items from their wish lists to celebrate the holiday season.  We’ll have a chance to meet our families on December 5 and give them their gifts in person.  ERAC is proud to be part of this university-wide effort, which brings joy to dozens of families each December.

To be most helpful for the program and for the families we serve, ERAC encouraged faculty and staff to also provide financial donations.  The monies collected were used to purchase food gift cards for the families. We thank those who contributed to this outreach.

As has become tradition, this spring ERAC is sponsoring the attendance at an Iron Pigs baseball game.  We invite all members of the Lehigh family to join us on Saturday, June 15th at 6:35 p.m. (the day before Father's Day).  Tickets are $10 and make excellent holiday and birthday gifts!  To purchase your ticket, please use the form on the ERAC website

During November, ERAC and LTS had a roaringly successful brown bag on leveraging mobile technology to improve productivity.  The session focused on iPads in particular, and we’re looking forward to a continuation of the topic in the coming year.
As a reminder, the university has finalized and shared its Benefits Allocation Review decisions, available here.  These decisions address employees’ tuition benefit, medical, and retirement plans.  Staff and faculty joined Pat Farrell and Peggy Plympton for open meetings held on December 4 and 5. A report on those meetings will be included in the January issue of Spotlight.

We’re looking forward to 2013, and with it, new brown bag lunches and other events and news.  Until then, have a wonderful end 2012 and Winter Break!
