Wellness In The Works: Fall Programs Underway

Print Article

Blue Jean Bash

For 16 consecutive years, Lehigh has participated in raising funds for breast cancer research and education. In exchange for a $5 donation to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, employees may wear jeans to work to show their support for the fight against breast cancer. By participating in the Blue Jean Bash, your contribution will benefit breast cancer prevention services, groundbreaking breast cancer treatment and early detection research. Once again, Lehigh University is proud to be a part of this program and we encourage you to participate on Friday, October 26, 2012.
To register, download a registration form and return it to Human Resources no later than Friday, October 19, 2012.

Walking Groups Continue This Fall
If you prefer your fitness outdoors with friends, join our Wellness Walking Groups during the lunch hour. Walkers leave from the flagpole at 12:10 Monday through Wednesday. Distances vary depending on the day, and generally range between one and three miles.

Lehigh's campus is always beautiful in autumn, so join your colleagues and enjoy the crisp cool air. To register, use the HR Training Registration tool.

HealthSCAN is a personal, preventive health screening that may determine if you have current or potential health problems. Tests include checks for diabetes, heart disease, gout, liver, and kidney disease. A Complete Blood Count (CBC) as well as HDL (good) and LDL (bad) cholesterol levels are done. Test results are strictly confidential. Only you will receive your results. This program, conducted by Quest Diagnostics, is being offered on October 10, 11, and 12, 2012.
Lehigh employees are eligible for one free screening per year as part of their benefits program. Retirees as well as employee spouses/partners can also participate in the screening at full cost (currently $50). Download a registration form here.
