1. Fidelity Investments Workshop Highlights

"Building A Portfolio For Any Weather"
        Monday, August 13, 2012, 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

Fidelity Investments, one of Lehigh's four Voluntary Retirement Savings Plan vendors, is offering a free workshop on campus open to all benefits eligible employees.

In this session, you'll learn how to:

  • Determine an appropriate investment mix and your investment style
  • Select investment options that fit your investment approach
  • Manage your investment strategy to help meet your long-term goals.

Register for the workshop via Lehigh HR's program registration page.

After the workshop, a Fidelity representative will be on hand for individual consultations. To register for an appointment, call 800-642-7131 or log on to Fidelity's website.

2.    Day Of Caring Set for September 27

The first Day of Caring for 2012-2013 will take place on September 27.  There are two Day of Caring opportunities each academic year, one per semester. To encourage connections between Lehigh and our wider community, employees may choose one of these days as an excused volunteer service day. Check with your supervisor first. Then, if your schedule permits, consider signing up for one of the available service projects. For more information, you can also contact Anne Noon-Scaggs at

3. Greet The Class of 2016: Join Flash Mob 2012

Here’s a way that anyone can help welcome the students of the class of 2016 and get a little exercise at the same time. Join Lehigh University's faculty, staff, and students in a Flash Mob Dance Performance!

Last year’s performance was a Lehigh first and a big success. This year, dancers will strut their stuff to LMFAO’s Party Rock Anthem. This performance will take place at 12:15 PM on Move In Day, Thursday, August 23rd.

There is room for anyone who wants to join in the fun. No matter what your dance ability may be, there is a spot for you:

Prime Timer Dancers - These are dancers with intermediate to advanced dance experience and/or individuals who are committed to learning a routine that requires at least one hour a week of practice during the summer. Practice is underway.

Wavers - These participants will be stationed at the terrace level or on the steps of the UC and will only be required to do simple arm motions (such as “The Wave”) towards the latter part of the dance routine. Participants must be available to rehearse a few weeks prior to the event. An instructional video will be available soon.

If you are interested in participating, please contact Irene Karvoski at to sign up and designate your preferred dance group.
