In Memoriam: Robert Jenny

Print Article

Robert Jenny, maintenance technician in Facilities, passed away on July 7, 2012. Bob served Lehigh for seven years.

Fred Colon, Bob’s supervisor, said that Bob was an incredible carpenter. “He could build anything. Before working here, he worked at the Steel in the pattern shop for 31 years.”

David “Luke” Lukow, a co-worker, said he was also a terrific record keeper. “We could always rely on Bob’s records about any piece of equipment, he was meticulous. We knew what had been done to anything he maintained because of his detailed journals.”

Fred and Luke added that in addition to missing his skills, his department misses Bob’s friendship and personality. “He took a lot of pride in his work, but was a real jokester,” Fred said. Luke added, “One of the things that kept his spirits up during his illness was remembering all the fun jokes from work.”

Bob was also an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed restoring classic cars.
