Capital BlueCross Announces Pet Health Insurance

Print Article

Have you heard that Lehigh University is going to the dogs (and cats)? It’s true!
Pet health insurance has been added to our employee discount offerings.  Capital BlueCross is providing access to this insurance as a service to Lehigh employees and at no charge to Lehigh University. If you choose to enroll, you will pay them directly for this coverage.

If you’re a pet owner, you know too well that the cost of veterinary care is rising. Advances in veterinary science have made treatments once reserved for humans, accessible to pets.

In addition, our pets are living longer. The average dog today lives about three years longer than a decade ago due to better quality nutrition and well-pet prevention visits. As a result, the cost of taking care of a pet over its lifetime has risen significantly.

That’s where pet insurance comes in.  It helps pet owners avoid the risk of costly unexpected care that may be beyond their budget.

Insurance gives pet owners the confidence to seek more and better pet care because finances are less of a barrier – they don’t have to choose between their wallet and the health of their pet. In short, pet insurance can make all the difference in whether pets receive the care they need.
