In Memoriam: Richard Greenwood

On September 15, 2011, Richard Greenwood passed away.

Rick worked at Lehigh University in the Distance Education department as an electronic technician for the past 2½ years. He was a career airman, serving for 20 years in the United States Air Force, and rose to the rank of Technical Sergeant. Throughout his military career, Rick served several foreign tours of duty worldwide.

Rick was the husband of Tammy L. (Shrewsbury) Greenwood. They were married for ten years last July. He is also survived by his mother, Marlene Greenwood, a daughter Amanda, sons Austin and Jason, sister Pam and her husband Jack Scott, niece Christie and nephew Gregory.

The Distance Education department has posted a remembrance of Rick on their website. Director Peg Portz notes that Rick “fit right in immediately,” and that he was he was always ready to step up and help. Jill Sharkey noted that Rick was “a quiet presence with an infectious smile.”
